I told him I loved him
he said it was far too cliché
For a poet to love
So I went back to my writing pad
And re-wrote my feelings
For we poets can change our feelings
With just a flick of a pen
Whats the matter he said
Dont you love me anymore?
No I told him
Thats far too cliché, for a poet like me

I can definitely hear your tone through this poem, and I think it's nice.

We all carry these things inside that no one else can see.
They hold us down like anchors. They drown us out at sea.
I look up to the sky, there may be nothing there to see.
But if I don't believe in him, why would he believe in me?
I think that boy got what was coming to him. I did that to a guy once...only he didn't say it was cliché he said it was gay...dumb ass...Then when I got a bit more pretty he was drooling over me and the day he asked me out i told him no and he asked why i didn't love him and all i said was "I thought you thought love was gay" His face went as pale as bone. And then he blushed. I walked away laughing at him. lol

I go to my paper
To write my poem
But tears drip down this face
and soak the paper
I go to my keyboard
To type my poem
But tears drip down this face
And short the keys
I go to my mind
To memorize my poem
but...care to hear the rest
lol
